Gasparee Caves is a natural system of limestone caverns and caves created by millions of years of wave action and slightly acid rain on the island of Gaspar Grande.
Just let your imagination run as you walk through this extraordinary cave system with its numerous stalactites and stalagmites as you descend 100 feet underground and walk through a magnificent system of natural limestone.
At the bottom of the cave, you will find a mysterious clear tidal pool is known as the Blue Grotto which was open to the public in 1981.
During world war II a gunnery was established just above the cave and the six-inch guns that are present there were originally mounted at the Point-a- Pierre and Point Fortin Oil Refineries and replaced the two 4.7 inch cannons that can now be seen at the Military and Aviation Museum in Chaguaramas.
